The Glock 19 Gen 3 Mariner is a compact semi automatic pistol chambered in 9mm, produced by Glock Inc. at the Smyrna, Georgia facility under contract for the Philippines. The Mariner variant was developed specifically for personnel operating in tropical maritime and littoral environments where exposure to water, humidity, and saltwater immersion is routine. To ensure reliable ignition under these conditions, Mariner contract pistols were equipped with maritime spring cups in the firing pin assembly, which feature relief channels that allow water to drain from the firing pin channel rather than creating hydraulic lock that could prevent the firing pin from striking the primer with sufficient force. The pistol is otherwise mechanically identical to the standard Glock 19 Gen 3 platform, utilizing the same Safe Action trigger system, short recoil locked breech operating mechanism, and polymer frame with integral accessory rail. Mariner contract pistols are distinguished by "Mariner" markings on the slide.
