The FN 509 Tactical is a full size striker fired semi automatic pistol chambered in 9x19, developed by FN Herstal as part of the 509 platform. It operates on a short recoil, locked breech system with a modified Browning cam lock action. The Tactical variant is built around a 4.50 inch cold hammer forged, chrome lined barrel with 1/2x28 threading for suppressor attachment. The slide is machined with FN's Low Profile Optics Mounting System, which uses a series of adapter plates to accept a wide range of optic footprints. The pistol is fitted with suppressor height sights to allow sight acquisition over a mounted suppressor or through a mounted optic. The frame incorporates an integrated accessory rail, textured grip panels, and interchangeable backstraps. The 509 Tactical uses FN's striker fired trigger system with a trigger safety blade and a firing pin block safety.

This example features a grey polymer frame paired with a grey Cerakote finished stainless steel slide. The factory trigger has been replaced with a red Apex trigger. Accompanied by four FN 24 round extended magazines, one FN 17 round magazine, five ProMag 17 round magazines (ten total), optics mounting plates, original box, and soft range case.
