Freedom Arms Model 83 .454 Casull, 5.5" Barrel, Stainless, SSK T'SOB Scope Base

The Freedom Arms Model 83 is a five round, single action revolver manufactured in Freedom, Wyoming. Introduced in 1983, the Model 83 was the first revolver purpose built from the ground up for the .454 Casull cartridge, a high pressure round generating over 60,000 PSI that significantly exceeds the power levels of conventional revolver cartridges. Freedom Arms achieves the strength and precision necessary for this cartridge through tight tolerances, premium 17-4 PH stainless steel construction, and a manufacturing process that includes hand fitting of critical components. The cylinder uses a five round capacity with a cylinder pin latch located at the front of the frame, and the action incorporates a sliding bar safety mechanism that allows the revolver to be safely carried with all five chambers loaded.

This example is chambered in .454 Casull with a 5.5 inch barrel and a stainless steel finish throughout. The revolver is fitted with hardwood grips, along with a wood grip extension attached to the bottom of the grip for added purchase. A blade front sight is present up front, while the factory adjustable rear sight has been removed and replaced with an SSK T'SOB scope base, which mounts in the rear sight dovetail and extends rearward over the top strap to provide a solid platform for mounting a handgun scope or red dot optic. No original box or accessories included.
