The Dan Wesson DWX Compact combines design elements from both the CZ 75 and 1911 platforms in a compact, optics-ready handgun chambered in 9mm. The pistol uses a bushing-less, match-grade 4-inch bull barrel and operates in single-action only. The aluminum frame includes an integral 1913 accessory rail and a black DLC finish for wear resistance. The DWX features a non-ambidextrous manual thumb safety, and grip panels that are interchangeable with CZ 75 Compact pattern firearms.

The slide is cut for the Dan Wesson optic mounting system, which uses modular plates to accommodate a range of red dot footprints. Forward and rear cocking serrations aid in slide manipulation, and iron sights include a tritium front and U-notch rear. The DWX is accompanied by two 15-round magazines and is compatible with standard CZ 75 Compact double-stack magazines. No original case or optics plates included.
