The CZ Shadow 2 is a full size semi automatic pistol chambered in 9mm, developed as a competition oriented evolution of the CZ 75 SP-01 Shadow. The pistol operates on a short recoil, locked breech system using the CZ 75's cam locking mechanism. The Shadow 2 uses a steel frame with a higher beavertail and undercut trigger guard to lower the bore axis relative to the shooter's hand. The frame rides on full length slide rails in the CZ 75 tradition, with the slide riding inside the frame rather than over it. The trigger system is double action/single action with an ambidextrous manual safety. The Shadow 2 was designed with input from competitive shooters and incorporates a heavier frame with weight distributed toward the dust cover to reduce felt recoil, while a lighter slide improves cycling speed.
