The CZ 550 Safari Magnum is a bolt action rifle manufactured by Ceska zbrojovka in Uhersky Brod, Czech Republic, built on an enlarged CZ 550 magnum length action designed to accommodate full length magnum cartridges such as the .416 Rigby, .404 Jeffery, and .505 Gibbs. The action is a true controlled round feed design based on the Mauser 98 principle, featuring a large non-rotating claw extractor that captures the cartridge as it is stripped from the magazine and maintains positive control throughout the feeding, chambering, and extraction cycle. The bolt uses a fixed blade ejector and dual opposed locking lugs with a 90 degree bolt throw. The CZ 550 Safari Magnum is built as a dangerous game rifle, incorporating a heavy duty forged steel receiver with an integral recoil lug and a reinforced recoil crossbolt through the stock to manage the substantial recoil forces generated by large bore magnum cartridges. The receiver is drilled and tapped for scope mounting and features two pairs of bases machined into the receiver ring and bridge for 19mm dovetail scope rings. The trigger is a single set design that functions as a conventional single stage trigger or can be pushed forward to engage a lighter set trigger pull. The rifle is fitted with a Turkish walnut stock with a straight comb, checkered pistol grip and forend, sling swivel studs, and a solid rubber recoil pad.

This example is chambered in .416 Rigby with a 25 inch barrel. The iron sight system consists of a hooded front sight and a three leaf express rear sight with a fixed 100 meter blade and folding leaves for 200 and 300 meters, providing rapid sight acquisition at close to moderate range on dangerous game. The rifle feeds from an internal box magazine with a hinged floorplate release. Accompanied by 1" scope rings, no original box or accessories included.
