The CZ 550 Safari Magnum is a heavy duty bolt action rifle built on the CZ 550 magnum length receiver, designed for use with large and dangerous game cartridges. The action is a controlled round feed design derived from the Mauser 98 pattern, incorporating a full length non-rotating claw extractor, fixed blade ejector, and a massive bolt body with dual front locking lugs. The CZ 550 Safari Magnum features a single set trigger mechanism that functions as a conventional trigger under normal use but can be pushed forward to engage a lighter, crisper pull for deliberate shots. The receiver is machined from forged steel and incorporates integral 19mm dovetails for scope mounting. The rifle features a hinged floorplate with a release button located on the front of the trigger guard. Express style sights consisting of a front sight and a multi-leaf rear sight are standard on the Safari Magnum, reflecting the rifle's intended role on dangerous game at close to moderate range.

This example has had its original factory barrel rechambered from .458 Lott to .460 Weatherby Magnum. The .460 Weatherby Magnum is one of the most powerful commercially available cartridges, generating significantly higher chamber pressures and velocity compared to the .458 Lott. The rifle is equipped with a blade front sight and a three leaf express rear sight graduated for 100, 200, and 300 meters. It sits within a Turkish walnut stock featuring a Bavarian cheekpiece and schnabel forend tip. No original box or accessories included.
