Colt Frontier Scout .22 LR, Wyoming Diamond Jubilee Commemorative, 1964, with Colt Wood Display Case

The Colt Frontier Scout is a scaled-down, rimfire single action revolver based on the Colt Single Action Army platform. Introduced in 1957, the Frontier Scout was manufactured with a Zamak zinc alloy frame paired with a steel barrel and cylinder, producing a lighter and more affordable single action revolver chambered in .22 LR. The Frontier Scout became one of Colt's most prolific platforms for commemorative and special edition revolvers throughout the 1960s and 1970s.

This example is a Wyoming Diamond Jubilee edition, produced in 1964 to commemorate the 75th anniversary of Wyoming's admission to the Union on July 10, 1890. A total of 2,357 Wyoming Diamond Jubilee Frontier Scouts were manufactured, with serial numbers carrying a "DJ" suffix designating the Diamond Jubilee series. The commemorative configuration features a black anodized alloy frame with a blued steel barrel, and nickel cylinder, frame, hammer, and trigger. Its 4 3/4 inch barrel is inscribed "1890 WYOMING DIAMOND JUBILEE 1965". The revolver is fitted with walnut grips bearing silver Colt medallions. Accompanied by the original Colt wood display case with blue velvet interior. No other accessories included.

Note: Some finish loss to the frame, exterior of the wood display case is quite rough with numerous dings, dents, and scratches.
