The Colt New Frontier is a single action revolver derived from the Colt Single Action Army platform, distinguished by its flat top frame with a fully adjustable rear sight and a ramp front sight. The New Frontier was introduced in 1961 as a target sighted variant of the Single Action Army, offering the classic Colt single action mechanism with a gate loaded cylinder and manually operated ejector rod paired with target sights suited to deliberate shooting. The .22 LR variant of the New Frontier was produced on a dedicated rimfire frame scaled to the proportions of the centerfire Single Action Army. Production of the .22 caliber New Frontier began in 1971 and continued into the early 1980s. The rimfire New Frontier uses a six round cylinder and shares the same basic operating principles as its centerfire counterpart, with the half cock notch serving as the safety position.

This example features a 6 inch barrel with a blued finish on the barrel and grip frame, and a color case hardened frame. The revolver is fitted with black polymer Eagle grips with checkering and Rampant Colt medallions. No original box or accessories included.
