The Colt LE901 Modular Carbine is a semi-automatic rifle built on a forged aluminum receiver set utilizing a direct gas impingement operating system with a rotating bolt. The lower receiver is the foundation of the LE901 platform, designed to accept both .308 Winchester upper receivers and standard AR-15 upper receivers through the use of a magazine well adapter. The lower features ambidextrous controls, including an ambidextrous magazine release and ambidextrous bolt release.

This example is chambered in .308 Winchester and features a monolithic upper receiver with a Picatinny quadrail handguard with integrated QD sling cups. The rifle is fitted with a 16 inch barrel, currently fitted with a flash hider. Sights consist of a flip up front sight mounted at the gas block and a flip up adjustable rear sight. The rifle is equipped with a VLTOR collapsible buttstock and an A2 pistol grip. Accompanied by one 20-round PMAG, no original box or accessories included.
