The Colt Defender is a subcompact 1911 style semi automatic pistol designed for concealed carry and personal defense. Built on a forged aluminum alloy frame, the Defender operates on a short recoil, locked breech system with a single action trigger. A defining feature of the Defender is its bushingless bull barrel design, which eliminates the traditional barrel bushing found on full size Government Models. The recoil system uses a dual spring arrangement with a full length guide rod to manage the increased slide velocity inherent to the shortened slide. Additional features include an upswept beavertail grip safety, an extended thumb safety, and a Series 80 firing pin safety system. The slide is fitted with Novak carry sights in a low snag configuration suited to draw from concealment.

This example is the Model O variant with a silver Cerakote finished aluminum alloy frame and stainless slide. The pistol is fitted with pearl style grips with Colt medallion inlays. Accompanied by two 8-round magazines and original box.
