The Colt Agent is a lightweight variation of Colt’s D-frame revolver series, chambered in .38 Special and designed for concealed carry. Introduced in the mid 1950s, the Agent used an aluminum alloy frame to reduce weight compared to the steel Detective Special while retaining the same six-shot cylinder and compact dimensions. This example is finished in blue and fitted with factory checkered wood grips with Colt medallions.

This revolver is equipped with a factory hammer shroud, a configuration intended to prevent the hammer from snagging during draw while still allowing thumb cocking for single action fire. Shrouded hammer Agents were produced in smaller numbers than standard exposed hammer models and were marketed as a carry oriented variation within the D-frame line. The design retains Colt’s traditional double action lockwork and compact six-shot cylinder, offering greater capacity than many contemporary small revolvers of similar size. Original box included.
