The Colt 6450 is part of Colt’s factory 9mm AR series derived from the Colt 9mm submachine gun program developed for military and law enforcement use. Unlike standard AR-15 rifles chambered in 5.56, the platform operates using a straight blowback system with a dedicated 9mm bolt assembly and magazine system. This example uses the fixed carry handle A2 upper receiver with a metal brass deflector, along with the dedicated 9mm lower receiver configured for Colt pattern magazines.

The rifle features a 16 inch barrel with A2 flash suppressor, polymer carbine handguards, and the classic CAR-15 style collapsible stock. Colt’s factory 9mm lowers use an integrated magazine block secured by visible cross pins in the receiver, allowing the use of Colt pattern double column 9mm magazines derived from modified UZI magazines.
