Browning SA-22 Grade I .22 LR, Miroku Japan, MFG 1977

The Browning SA-22 is a semi-automatic takedown rifle chambered in .22 Long Rifle, based on John Browning's original 1914 design. The rifle uses a bottom ejection, blowback operated action fed from a tubular magazine loaded through the buttstock. A hallmark of the design is the barrel and forend assembly's ability to separate from the receiver and buttstock for compact transport and storage, accomplished by rotating the barrel assembly a quarter turn and pulling it forward from the receiver. Browning transferred production of the SA-22 from FN in Belgium to Miroku in Japan beginning in 1976, continuing the same fundamental design with Japanese manufactured components.

This example was manufactured by Miroku in Japan in 1977 and is a Grade I variant, featuring floral scroll engraving on both sides of the receiver, a polished blued finish, and a gloss finished walnut stock and forend with cut checkering. The rifle is fitted with a blade front sight with a gold bead and a folding leaf rear sight. Original box included.
