Browning Hi-Power 9mm, 1979 Belgian Production, Adjustable Irons
The Browning Hi-Power is a single action semi-automatic pistol designed by John Moses Browning and Dieudonné Saive, produced by Fabrique Nationale d'Armes de Guerre (FN) in Herstal, Belgium. It uses a short recoil, locked breech system with a linkless cam locking arrangement. The Hi-Power feeds from a 13-round double stack magazine, which was a significant capacity advantage at the time of its introduction in 1935. The design incorporates a single action trigger, external hammer, frame mounted thumb safety, and magazine disconnect safety. Full Belgian production Hi-Powers were manufactured entirely at the FN factory in Herstal, with all machining, fitting, and assembly performed in Belgium.
This example was manufactured in 1979, indicated by an RN date code. It is finished in a polished blue and is fitted with checkered walnut grips. The sights consist of an adjustable rear sight and the corresponding taller front sight blade designed to pair with the adjustable rear assembly. Accompanied by one 13-round magazine. No original box or accessories included.
