The Browning Gold is a gas operated semi automatic shotgun introduced in 1994, utilizing Browning's self regulating gas system designed to automatically adjust gas pressure for reliable cycling across a range of 12 gauge loads without manual adjustment. The Gold is built on a lightweight aluminum alloy receiver with a steel barrel threaded for the Invector Plus choke system and was offered in a variety of field, sporting, and commemorative configurations throughout its production run. For the 60th anniversary of Ducks Unlimited in 1997, Browning produced a limited edition commemorative variant of the Gold shotgun to mark the organization's six decades of wetlands conservation work since its founding in 1937. These commemorative shotguns were distributed through Ducks Unlimited fundraising events and feature specialized gold engraving and inlay work distinguishing them from standard production models.

This example is chambered in 12 gauge with a 3 inch chamber and features commemorative engravings and gold inlay work throughout the receiver. The right side is engraved "1937 1997 SIXTY YEARS OF WETLANDS CONSERVATION" with gold flying duck figures, while the left side reads "DUCKS UNLIMITED ANNIVERSARY GOLD 60 EDITION" with matching gold flying ducks. The top of the receiver features a framed vignette depicting a swimming duck, and the underside of the trigger guard is inlaid with a gold Ducks Unlimited logo. The shotgun is configured with a triangular textured push button safety, a 28 inch vent rib barrel with a Full Invector Plus choke tube installed, and walnut stock and forend. Includes Improved Cylinder and Modified Invector Plus choke tubes and case.
