Browning BLR 81L 7mm Remington Magnum, 24 Inch Barrel, MFG 1992

The Browning BLR is a lever action rifle distinguished from traditional lever actions by its use of a geared rack and pinion lever mechanism that operates a rotating bolt head, providing the lock up strength necessary to safely chamber modern high pressure cartridges. The BLR feeds from a detachable box magazine rather than a tubular magazine, allowing the use of spitzer bullets without concern for primer contact between stacked cartridges. A notable feature of the BLR design is its trigger, which travels with the lever during the cycling stroke rather than remaining stationary in the receiver. The BLR 81 designation refers to the updated version introduced in 1981, which replaced the original BLR introduced in 1969.

This example chambered in 7mm Remington Magnum with a 24 inch blued barrel and blued steel receiver. The rifle bears an NY serial date code indicating 1992 manufacture and a 327 serial suffix denoting that it is a BLR 81 Long Action. It is fitted with a glossy finished walnut straight grip stock with checkering at the wrist and a checkered walnut forend. Sights consist of an adjustable rear sight and a blade front sight. Accompanied by one magazine and original box.
