The Browning BLR (Browning Lever Rifle) Lightweight is a lever action rifle distinguished from traditional lever action designs by its use of a rack and pinion geared lever mechanism and a detachable box magazine rather than a tubular magazine. This configuration allows the BLR to safely chamber pointed spitzer bullets and modern high pressure short magnum cartridges that would be unsuitable for tubular magazine lever actions. The action uses a rotating bolt head with multiple locking lugs that engages directly into the barrel, providing a strong and consistent lockup. The BLR Lightweight variant uses an aircraft grade aluminum alloy receiver with a silver anodized finish to reduce overall weight. The lever is a one piece aluminum alloy component that incorporates the trigger guard, also finished in a silver anodize to match the receiver. The barrel and bolt assembly are stainless steel for enhanced corrosion resistance. The receiver is drilled and tapped for scope mounting. 

This example is chambered in .325 Winchester Short Magnum, a short action magnum cartridge introduced in 2005 that drives an 8mm (.323 caliber) bullet and is suited for large North American game including elk and moose. The rifle is fitted with a 22 inch stainless steel barrel, a gray laminate pistol grip stock with checkering, and a gold colored trigger. Sights consist of a fiber optic front blade and an adjustable rear sight. The detachable box magazine has a capacity of three rounds. No original box or accessories included.
