Beretta AR70 - MOD70, Pre-ban Imported by Berben Corporation
The Beretta AR70 Sport is a civilian semi-automatic variant of the original AR70 rifle, developed in the late 1960s and adopted by segments of the Italian military and law enforcement in the early 1970s. Originally designed to meet NATO standardization efforts, the AR70 reflects Beretta’s early attempt at a modern 5.56mm service rifle before the introduction of the AR70/90 series. The Sport model was imported in limited numbers by Berben Corporation and maintains the core mechanical features of the original platform with a semiautomatic-only configuration.
This rifle utilizes a long-stroke gas piston system with a rotating bolt, housed in a two-piece stamped steel receiver. The barrel measures 19.7 inches in length, chambered in .223, and fitted with a birdcage flash hider. The furniture includes a fixed black synthetic buttstock and vented polymer handguards with internal heat shielding. Controls consist of a non-reciprocating right-side charging handle and a selector switch located above the pistol grip.
Sighting is provided by a hooded front post and a receiver-mounted diopter-style rear sight adjustable for windage and elevation. This configuration includes one 30-round magazine. No original packaging or additional accessories are included.
