FN Browning Auto-5 16 Gauge, X-Series, Manufactured 1947, 27.5" Barrel

The Browning Auto-5 is a long recoil operated semi automatic shotgun designed by John Moses Browning and manufactured by Fabrique Nationale (FN) in Herstal, Belgium beginning in 1903. Following the interruption of World War II, FN resumed Auto-5 production and assigned X-prefix serial numbers to 16 gauge guns in the postwar period.

This example is serial number X9921, dating manufacture to 1947. It is chambered in 16 gauge with a 27.5 inch fixed Modified choke barrel and front bead sight. The barrel and receiver are marked "BROWNING ARMS COMPANY ST LOUIS Mo." and the barrel is additionally marked "Made in Belgium". The shotgun features a walnut stock with a rounded pistol grip profile and walnut forend, both with cut checkering. The trigger and sliding safety are blued. The length of pull measures 14.25 inches. No original box or accessories included.
