The Beretta 92FS Compact L is a shortened version of the Model 92 service pistol, retaining the same operating system in a slightly reduced format. The pistol uses a short recoil locking block system rather than a tilting barrel and incorporates the characteristic open top slide design. Compact L models use a 4.25 inch barrel and shortened grip frame, maintaining the control layout and double action/single action trigger system of the full size pistol.

This example is the Inox stainless variant, using a stainless brushed silver slide, barrel and frame. The aluminum alloy frame is marked M9A1 and incorporates an integrated accessory rail, allowing the mounting of weapon lights or other accessories. M9A1 pattern frames also include more aggressive grip checkering and a beveled magazine well. This pistol is fitted with Wilson Combat compact G10 grips in gray and black with checkering, replacing the factory grip panels. Original box and case included.
