The Browning Auto 5 is a semi-automatic shotgun designed by John Moses Browning and built around a long recoil operating system, in which the barrel and bolt travel rearward together before separating to cycle the action. The design uses a friction ring system on the magazine tube to regulate operation across different load types. The receiver is machined from steel and paired with a walnut stock and fore-end, with this example featuring the round knob grip profile.

This example is chambered in 20 gauge and is fitted with a blued steel barrel with an adjustable choke device at the muzzle, allowing choke constriction to be varied.
