The Beretta PX4 Storm is a full size DA/SA semi automatic pistol developed by Beretta as a modern duty and defense handgun. The pistol operates on a short recoil, locked breech system utilizing Beretta's rotating barrel locking mechanism, in which the barrel rotates approximately 30 degrees during cycling to lock and unlock from the slide. This rotating barrel design distributes recoil forces more evenly and reduces felt recoil and muzzle rise compared to traditional tilting barrel designs. The polymer frame incorporates an integral MIL-STD-1913 Picatinny accessory rail on the dust cover and a modular grip system with interchangeable backstraps to accommodate different hand sizes. The slide mounted ambidextrous safety functions as both a manual safety and a decocker. The PX4 Storm in .45 ACP uses a single stack magazine configuration, with the full size variant featuring a 4.1 inch chrome lined barrel and Beretta's three dot sight system.
