The Beretta ARX-100 is a semi-automatic rifle chambered in 5.56x45mm NATO, derived from the Beretta ARX-160 selective fire military rifle adopted by the Italian Armed Forces. The ARX-100 uses a short stroke gas piston operating system with a rotating bolt, a design that keeps combustion gases and fouling out of the receiver, contributing to reliability and reduced maintenance. The rifle features a modular, ambidextrous design with fully reversible controls including the magazine release, bolt release, charging handle, and ejection port, allowing the shooter to configure the rifle for left or right handed operation without tools. The upper receiver incorporates a full length Picatinny rail for optics mounting. The barrel is cold hammer forged, chrome lined, and quickly removable without tools via the barrel release system, a feature carried over from the military ARX-160 platform. The black polymer stock features an adjustable cheek riser and a folding buttstock with adjustable length of pull spacers. The ARX-100 accepts standard STANAG magazines.
