The Beretta AL391 Teknys is an evolution of the AL391 Urika platform, introduced in 2003 with refinements focused on recoil reduction and shootability. The Teknys operates on Beretta's self compensating gas system, using a gas piston and exhaust valves forward of the chamber to automatically regulate gas pressure across a wide range of loads from light target shells through 3 inch magnum rounds without manual adjustment. The gas system also channels exhaust gases to help reduce carbon buildup on the piston and gas cylinder during each firing cycle. The Teknys incorporated Beretta's Gel Tek recoil pad and an inline inertia weight in the stock to further dampen felt recoil. The action uses a rotating bolt head that locks into the barrel extension, housed in an aluminum alloy receiver.

This example is the Teknys Gold model, the premium variant distinguished by a two tone receiver finish combining matte and brushed surfaces with deep engraved bird scene engravings on both sides of the receiver, a jeweled bolt and loading gate, and green colored inserts on the stock and receiver. It is chambered in 12 gauge with a 3 inch chamber and is fitted with a 28 inch barrel with a ventilated rib and fiber optic front sight. The barrel is threaded for Beretta MobilChoke tubes. The stock is walnut with a 14.5 inch length of pull. Accompanied by five choke tubes (Full, Improved Cylinder, Improved Modified, Modified, and Cylinder), extra buttpad, manuals, and original box.
