Beretta 950B .25 ACP, Single Action Tip-Up Barrel
The Beretta 950B is a subcompact single action semi automatic pistol chambered in .25 ACP, produced by Fabbrica d'Armi Pietro Beretta in Gardone Val Trompia, Italy. The 950 series was introduced in 1952 as a compact pocket pistol, with the .25 ACP variant marketed as the Jetfire and the .22 Short variant as the Minx. The 950B designation indicates an updated production variant within the series. The defining mechanical feature of the platform is the tip-up barrel, released by a lever on the left side of the frame forward of the trigger guard, which allows the barrel to pivot upward at the breech for direct chamber loading or unloading without cycling the slide. The pistol operates on a simple blowback action with a single action trigger mechanism and an exposed hammer. The open top slide design, characteristic of Beretta's small frame pistols, contributes to reliable ejection. The 950B in .25 ACP feeds from a single stack 8-round magazine retained by a push button release located at the base of the grip frame.
This example is an Italian manufactured 950B with a blued steel slide and barrel and a black anodized alloy frame. The pistol is fitted with checkered black plastic grips bearing the Beretta logo and fixed sights integral to the slide. Accompanied by one 8-round magazine, no original box or accessories included.
