The Beretta 92F is a double action/single action semi automatic pistol chambered in 9mm Parabellum, manufactured by Pietro Beretta in Gardone Val Trompia, Italy. Introduced in 1985, the 92F succeeded the 92SB and incorporated several refinements including a recurved trigger guard, redesigned grip geometry, and a chrome lined bore. The pistol operates on a short recoil, falling locking block system and features Beretta's open slide design, which exposes the upper portion of the barrel. The 92F uses a frame mounted combination safety and decocking lever.
