BRNO VZ 24 Mauser 7x57mm, Custom Mannlicher Stock, Weaver K4-E Scope
The VZ 24 is a bolt action military rifle manufactured by Zbrojovka Brno (BRNO) in Czechoslovakia, produced from 1924 through the late 1940s. The VZ 24 is a Mauser 98 pattern rifle featuring a controlled round feed action with a large non-rotating claw extractor, dual forward locking lugs, a 90 degree bolt throw, and a blade ejector. The action incorporates the Mauser 98 two position flag safety on the bolt shroud, which locks the bolt and trigger in the upward position. The VZ 24 was widely exported and manufactured under contract for numerous countries, making it one of the most prolific Mauser 98 derivatives produced between the World Wars.
This example is chambered in 7x57mm Mauser and is fitted with a custom full length Mannlicher style stock with a Monte Carlo cheekpiece. The action is equipped with a double set trigger system, allowing the shooter to use the front trigger as a conventional single stage trigger or set it via the rear trigger for a lighter pull. The receiver has been drilled and tapped for scope mounting, and a Weaver K4-E 4x fixed power scope is installed. Features blade front sight with gold bead. No additional accessories included.
